Last night the Rational Parliament sat to debate fracking for shale gas in the UK. In total, 82 joined in with the debate, with others taking part from outside the chamber via Twitter. There was a great range of perspectives, experiences and viewpoints, including those of several researchers whose work covers different aspects of fracking.
I’ll be posting a full report and gallery on here in due course, but in the meantime please click on the link below to see words and photos from our members and officers:
Thanks very much to everyone who helped last night – our officers, volunteer clerks and Conway Hall staff. Thanks to all the researchers who came to make sure we included evidence in the debate, and to Angela Smith, Labour MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, for her contributions and for highlighting the differences between our house and the one in Westminster.
On their way out, lots of people said, “See you next time!”… so, erm… yeah, let’s do another one early in 2014!
